ACLS Drugs
Procainamide
dose for ACLS - 20mg/min IV up to 1,000mg
Procainamide is indicated for the suppression of PVCs and recurrent v tach which do not respond to lidocaine. It is rarely used to treat v fib because it takes so long to achieve levels.
Procainamide may also be used to convert supraventricular arrhythmias.
